About

Dr. Kiran Naz is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Management Sciences at Riphah International University. Her background spans pharmacy, healthcare management, public health and health services research. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) from Quaid-i-Azam University and a Master's degree in Healthcare Management from Riphah International University.

Her work brings healthcare knowledge and management research together to examine healthcare quality, patient safety, workforce well-being, health services, public health and emerging digital solutions in healthcare. Her research experience includes quantitative and survey-based studies, mediation and moderation analysis, and organizational research in healthcare settings. She is also interested in mixed-methods research, scale development and validation, implementation research and digital health.

Alongside research and teaching, she has contributed to academic training, professional development, alumni engagement and institutional initiatives. Earlier roles in pharmaceutical quality control, healthcare quality assurance and pharmacy practice give her a practical view of how healthcare organizations actually work.

Research

My research focuses on generating practical evidence to improve healthcare systems, services and outcomes. I am interested in how organizational, behavioral and digital factors influence healthcare quality, patient safety, workforce well-being and access to effective health services. My longer-term direction is interdisciplinary and mixed-methods: developing measurement tools that fit their context, and evaluating interventions in Pakistan and other low- and middle-income countries.

  • Healthcare quality

Quality improvement, healthcare service delivery and evidence-based management.

  • Patient safety

How safety knowledge, compliance, motivation and organizational factors affect safe care.

  • Public health

Applied research on population health, health equity and health-system challenges.

  • Digital health

Evaluating and implementing digital solutions that improve access, acceptability and health outcomes.

  • Healthcare workforce

Workplace well-being, incivility, emotional exhaustion, insomnia and organizational behavior.

  • Health services research

How healthcare services are organized, delivered and improved, approached across disciplines.

Methods

Quantitative survey research, cross-sectional and descriptive designs, mediation and moderation analysis, PLS-SEM (SmartPLS) and SPSS-based analysis, scale development and psychometric validation, qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, and implementation and impact evaluation.

Proposed research

Developing and validating a digital infectious disease intervention acceptability scale, and evaluating a community-based digital TB intervention in Pakistan

This proposed mixed-methods study will develop and validate a contextually appropriate scale that measures how acceptable digital infectious-disease interventions are to the people who use them. It will then evaluate the implementation and impact of a community-based digital tuberculosis intervention in Pakistan.
